Everything Is Ruins

I presented my findings

To the financial team

Behind the dig

I told them what I found

And they were…

They had a hard time

With the...idea of me

Presenting those findings

To the public

In my mind, it was a

Once-in-a-lifetime

Discovery

The underwater city

And we found it

Well, part of it

Only one of the buildings

Was still somewhat intact

The rest was rubble

But from that building

We can tell so much

About life in what appears to be

The real city of Atlantis

The building was, uh, is

Or, uh, appears to be

The ruins of, uh

An ancient, um--

Bathhouse

So, yes, there are some--

There’s evidence, uh,

As you can imagine

Of the, um, daily life

Or, aspects of the, uh,

Daily lives

Of the residents

Of the, uh, city

For one thing,

We know that they were, uh,

They were--

A pretty progressive

Society

We found lots of, uh,

Carvings, of, um

Various--activities

That were, uh--

Gosh, now I’m kind of

Understanding

Why the financial team

Had concerns

Um--

So it appears as though

They were very, uh, open

In terms of who they, uh

Interacted...with

Women with men
Women with women

Men with men

Men with fish, uh--

Well, fish--people

A fish-like, uh, people

Not mermaids, um

It doesn’t appear

That they had any human features

Aside from the, uh, well, pertinent parts

One would need

If they were to, uh, enjoy a, uh--

An underwater

Bathouse

There is one particular drawing

On the wall of the ruins

Where it appears

That a sea horse

And an ancient princess

Were engaged in some, uh,

Interesting, uh, um, things

With a very attractive squid

We found, uh, what could either be

Tridents, or, uh

Just...accessories

For the...for what...people, uh...did there

There was, what looks like,

Quite possibly, uh

The very first jacuzzi

I don’t know

What the purpose

Of a jacuzzi would be

In an underwater city

But, uh, I can tell you

That we scraped it

And put what we found

Under a microscope

And, uh, oh boy

That thing was FILTHY

Looked like a map

Of the Canary Islands

WHen you looked at it up close

Then, of course,

There were the ancient handcuffs

The ancient whips

The ancient inflatable dolls

And just, uh, a lot of miraculous artifacts

That the financial team

Believes

Should never see the light of day

But of course

Life doesn’t always happen

In the, uh, prettiest of places

Although the columns are beautiful

And the front steps

And the hallway decorated

With what appear to be, uh--

Octopus genitalia

But, uh, it seems

That the residents of Atlantis

Were not ashamed

Of their desires

And how they...engaged with them

They put their bathhouse

Right in the middle of the city

And they seemed to spend

Quite a bit of time there

Indeed, the marketplace

Was inside the structure

It was right next to

The room that was made

Entirely of rubber, and--

I should wrap this up

I think we can learn something

From these people

And sometimes--

Sometimes history

Isn’t always

How we’d like it to be

But you just have

To, uh, keep digging

Until you get to the basement

And then you stop, because, uh, well--

I don’t even want to tell you

What I think went on

In that basement
