The Dog Doesn't Die At The End

The dog doesn’t die

At the end

I think other people die

But not the dog

I think it’s a lot of people

It could be

Like, hundreds

I think it might be

Hundreds of people

And I think it’s gory

I think it’s gory

And violent

And really graphic

Like, they don’t shy away

From showing you

Like organs coming out of bodies

And heads flying off

And implosion
Just bodies imploding

But the dog is fine

The dog just hangs back

And is like--

Oh wow, that’s really bad

I wish I could help

But if I die

Nobody is going

To want to watch

This movie

So the dog is fine

But all the people

Really go through it

There are, like,

Javelins

Or whatever you call them

And those balls with the spikes

And catapults

Human catapults

Where people just thrown

Right into other people

People are running around

With their arms chopped off

And holding their own intestines

And tongues cut out

And blood just spurting

Out of their eyes

Puking on each other

Because it’s just so bad

But the dog doesn’t die

So that’s good at least

At one point, big crowds of people

Just start flying up into space

Where they just float around

In the vast vacuum

Of oblivion

And it’s like--

Wow, it’s really intense

It is just devastating

But--

The dog is cool

He’s just eating some food

Staying calm

Plays with this toy he has

That he likes

And generally

He’s in good spirits

I mean, he might be sad

About what he’s seeing

But he’s fine

And so it’s hard

To get really upset about it all

Because it’s not like
The dog is ever

In any danger

Which is lucky

Because it seems like

There are mines

Are on every field

And no matter what any

Living human being does

They’re going to end up maimed

Or suffering slowly

In some way

So yeah, that’s the movie

Yeah, I figured

You would still want to watch it

I mean, aside from all that

It’s really not that bad

The whole thing ends

And the dog

Just walks past

All the severed limbs

And mutilated corpses

And he’s so cute

With his tail wagging

And the way he barks

When he sees a squirrel

The squirrels are fine too

But that’s not really a big deal

Because I knew you wouldn’t care

If anything happened

To the squirrels

But yeah, they’re fine

The cats are good too

Pretty much

All the animals

Even the horses

The armies rode into battle

They’re all good

Which is a miracle

It’s really just all the people

Who are obliterated

Yeah, I’ll make some dinner
And we can eat

While we watch

Wait until you see this dog

He is so damn cute

It’s hard to pay attention

To anything else
