She has a television show
Which is just...

Adorable

I mean, isn't that the cutest thing
You've ever heard?

At first, I got all excited
I said 'Are you playing a meth-addicted private investigator?'
Is it gritty?
Do you need to talk in a Polish accent?
Because I can help with that!

And I wasn't going to tell her that doing television is bad
Because lots of people do television nowadays
I did Angels in America, and it was wonderful!
And Kate Winslet did Mildred Pierce
And Dustin Hoffman did that show about the horses
So you see, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it

I said, 'Darling, there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing a show
On HBO
Nothing at all'

And she said, 'Mom, it's not.  It's on CW.'
And I said--

What's the CW?

And she said--'It's a network'

And I said--'Really?  Are you sure?'

And she said--'Yes.'

And I said--'Are you sure it's not on CBS?  Or NBC?  Or ABC?'

And she said--'No, Mother, my LAST show was ABC.'

And I said, 'Wait a minute, you've done television before?'

That must have been while I was filming The Iron Lady
For which I won my...oh goodness, my second?
--No, no, my THIRD Oscar
Wow
How about that?

Anyway, I said, 'Sweetie, what's on this CW network?'
And she said they have lots of shows about teenagers
And superheroes
And revamped Aaron Spelling shows
And I said--'Well...that's...something'

Then she got all upset
Because I asked her
If you can get that network in America

Well, it was an honest question

Anyway, she said she'll be playing a doctor
Who has relationship trouble
And I said--'Ohhh, like on Grey's Anatomy?!?!?
Because I looooove Grey's Anatomy'

And she said 'No, Mother, it's completely different.'

And I said--'Sweetheart, it's about doctors and relationships.  It can't be all that different.'

And she said--'Well, it is.'

And then she asked me...

If I would guest star
On her show

You know, because it would...

Help ratings
Or whatever

Guest star...on her show...on the...CW...

I mean, of course it would help the ratings
I think the last celebrity those people saw
Was Jack Wagner on Melrose Place 2.0

And I said, 'Sweetie, I don't really do television'
Then she brought up Angels
And I said, 'Well, you know, guest starring.  I don't guest star.'
And she mentioned me doing Lisa Kudrow's show
And I said 'That was on Showtime'
And then she brought up Jimmy Kimmel
And I told her that I don't like her
And then I laughed like I was kidding
But I sort of wasn't
Because she's kind of...ridiculous

I don't mean as a person
I mean just the fact that she exists
Is sort of ridiculous

Like all the other celebrity children?
