Every day I write down what's happened to me
Lists upon lists
Of minor events
Major upheavals
Some days it's too hard
Some days I skip
Because something's happened
I can't bear to memorialize
Even in my own handwriting
It's just too much
But once I'm done writing the events
I write down things I appreciate
Things that make me happy
A nice comment made by a friend
An opportunity
An instance
That made me realize
I'm happy to be alive
And I write it down
Lately I've noticed a trend
I write down a few things
But it always starts or ends
With one thing
Your name
I write down my name
And then everyday
I write your name
