Got a Beer in Her Hand

Looks like she's sweating
Sipping it
Laying back
Not having a care

Looks like she's letting the rays
Break through the tops
To get to her
Lost in the grass

Looks like she's a little bit drunk
And a little bit wiser
Than she was six months ago

Looks like she's a woman
I left behind
And one I could get to know

She's got a beer in her hand
And a plan on her mind
And a man she's not thinking about

She's got sunglasses on
And it's almost nine
But she's not out to go back in

She grins like a tiger
That's caught a hyena
And she's meaner than she used to be

But nobody slaps her
So that's all right
She'd rather take her chances
On dancing all night

The bruises are healed
And the boxes are packed
And she's still got an hour to kill

He'd kill her if he found out
But he isn't going to find out
Not in time to do something about it

She's got a beer in her hand
And the keys in the other
And she's going to keep smiling

If it's the last thing she does
